Terms of sale
This English text is a translation provided for convenience. Only the French version is legally binding. Read the French version
1. Purpose and publisher
These terms govern the sale of the subscription to the VoiceTeX service, published by Ilian Kara-Mostefa, Sole trader (French micro-entreprise), SIREN 939 023 735, registered office at 173 rue de Courcelles, 75017 Paris, France. VAT not applicable — article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.
2. The service
VoiceTeX turns spoken dictation into LaTeX. On every plan sold today, speech recognition runs on the customer's computer; no audio recording reaches the publisher. The recognised text is passed to a provider to be formatted, as stated in the privacy policy. Transcription running on the publisher's servers is planned for the Premium plan; it is not available yet, and its opening will be announced on the site.
3. Trial
The trial is a one-off purchase of 15 dictations, priced at €1.99. They are counted over the lifetime of the account and are not renewed. It covers the desktop app only; it does not renew and starts no subscription. Once the dictations are used, only subscribing to a plan allows you to continue.
4. Plans and prices
Standard: €29 per month, desktop app, up to 400 dictations per week. Premium: €49 per month, up to 800 dictations per week, and access at no extra cost to the Overleaf plugin and the VS Code extension, which are downloaded from the account area and installed manually; neither is distributed through any marketplace as of today, so neither updates itself. Transcription running on the publisher's servers, also planned for Premium, is not available yet. These ceilings are safeguards against automated use; human use does not reach them. Prices are stated excluding any taxes applicable in the customer's country.
5. Subscription and term
The subscription is monthly and renews by tacit agreement at each due date, until cancelled. The customer is told the price, the billing period and the date of the first charge before entering any payment details.
6. Right of withdrawal
As the service is supplied immediately, the customer expressly requests its performance before the fourteen-day withdrawal period expires and thereby acknowledges waiving that right, in accordance with article L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code. This consent is collected through a checkbox that is not pre-ticked at the time of subscription.
7. Cancellation
The customer may cancel at any time from their account page, without giving a reason and without contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and a written confirmation is sent by the payment provider. As the trial is a one-off purchase with no renewal, there is nothing to cancel.
8. Refunds
Refund conditions are set out on a dedicated page, which forms an integral part of these terms.
9. Availability and liability
The publisher undertakes to use reasonable means to keep the service available, without guaranteeing that it will never be interrupted. Its liability may not exceed the amounts paid over the last twelve months.
10. Mediation and governing law
Where a dispute remains unresolved, a consumer may refer it free of charge to the consumer mediation body: CM2C — Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris — https://www.cm2c.net. These terms are governed by French law.
