The trial costs €1.99 once, and renews into nothing. The price is not there to cover the dictations — those cost us a few cents — but to stop one person opening ten accounts. Filtering by network address would have locked out entire university campuses, who share a single one.
Your audio never leaves your machine. Transcription runs locally, and only text reaches us. Server-side transcription is planned for Premium — when it exists, it will be the one case where audio does leave your machine, and this page will say so plainly.
